I’m trying to pursue a career in print journalism, and would like to be able to have some experience in working at a magazine or newspaper.
How could I go about this? I live in a big metropolitan area, where there’s a lot of newspapers and magazine offices. Is it a wise idea to call them, and ask for any volunteer opportunities?

There are numerous organizations online, with different prices, packages, etc. Previously volunteered in Costa Rica, choose the cheapest Org, last minute, and had a horrible experience with the Org, but an amazing time in the country of course!! Any suggestions would be great, because I’m lost right now!!! Thank you!!!

I’m 16 and animals are my passion. I have always been a dog person, but recently- I have been getting more into wildlife.
At my High School, we have an animal program with hundreds of animals, including exotics. I have worked with raccoons, opossums, alligators, skunks, degus, and many othe typical housepets as well. I would love to find a summer job, or volunteer program somewhere near me- where I can continue doing this.
I want to be apart of a program, like a zoo… or something.
How can I go about doing this?
I don’t know where to start. Any advice?
