    Richland Co homeless count – Radio Interview

    Kathleen Atkins, program director for the Volunteers of America of Greater Ohios Transitional Housing Program, is heading the “point in time” homeless count for Richland County, Ohio. About 100 volunteers will canvas the county on January 26, counting the homeless population and handing out blankets and food.     The Mission of this Non-Profit Volunteer Group( bit.ly — temp link) is Simple. To reduce or eradicate the Omaha Homeless crisis by connecting the homeless with assistance and placement. The homeless are not lazy or choose to be in the elements. Usually this involves loss of job, divorce, or illness. While the mortality rate is high, the problem is solvable with the help of the community. Again, Project Homeless No More is a voluntary organization so all donations go 100% to the assistance of the Omaha Homeless.
