I would love to give some of my time to volunteering. I just don’t know which organization to volunteer for. I live in Norfolk, Va and i would like to know what organizations are in my area or what organizations have projects in my area.
Is there any type of place in Iloilo that in exchange for volunteer work, would feed me and give me a place to stay. No pay is necessary whatsoever. I am a fully naturalized U.S. citizen.
I’m graduating college in June and I started thinking about spending a year volunteering. I don’t want to get crazy specific, but I really want something that’s faith-based (Christian) and residential (volunteers live together).
I looked at Nazareth Farm and it’s almost perfect except the volunteers don’t start at the same time. AND it’s probably slightly too limited (in terms of the work done) for my tastes.
I want something where I’m living and possibly working/volunteering with 10-15 people in a NON-URBAN setting. It’d probably be something centered around rural community development, community outreach and education.
It’s also really important that I be eligible for the Americorps grant thing ($4725) when I finish–I HAVE to pay my student loans.
Christian-based it also very important, as is the fact of it being a year-long program.
Probably won’t get any replies on this, but it was worth a shot.
I cannot afford to volunteer with organizations that charge an arm and a leg. I would like to work with endangered baby animals and such. I can only work during the summer break cuz i’m still in school. If any1 knows of any please let me know. I live in the US, so I would like to volunteer abroad. Thanks.
