Suggestions for short/long term preparation for medical school. ?

    February 10th, 2010

My daughter is in middle school, an excellent student and highly motivated. She is very interested in become a surgeon. She has a good idea of what this will entail, but would appreciate suggestions for volunteer work, course work and extra things that she can do/look out for as she makes this journey. Additionally, would appreciate suggestions of the better undergrad & medical schools on either coasts (we are in So. CA, but have family in MA). Thanks in advance for your ideas.
